Logging In to DZDesk

This guide covers how to access and log in to the DZDesk platform.

Accessing DZDesk

Navigate to DZDesk:

The DZDesk login page displays two sign-in options:

Authentication Methods

DZDesk supports enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) through:

Sign in with Microsoft (Azure Entra ID)

If your organization uses Microsoft 365 or Azure services:

  1. Click "Sign in with Microsoft" on the login page
  2. Select your Microsoft account (or enter your organization email)
  3. Complete your organization's authentication flow (including MFA if required)
  4. You'll be redirected to the DZDesk dashboard

What happens behind the scenes:

  • DZDesk reads your Azure tenant ID to identify your organization
  • Your role is determined from Azure AD group membership
  • If you're the first user from your tenant, you become the admin

Sign in with Google (Google Workspace)

If your organization uses Google Workspace:

  1. Click "Sign in with Google" on the login page
  2. Select your Google Workspace account
  3. Complete your organization's authentication flow
  4. You'll be redirected to the DZDesk dashboard

What happens behind the scenes:

  • DZDesk reads your Google Workspace domain (e.g., acme.com)
  • Your role is determined from Google group membership
  • If you're the first user from your domain, you become the admin
Personal Gmail Not Supported

Users with personal Gmail accounts (@gmail.com) cannot create new organizations. They can only join existing organizations via admin invitation.

First-Time Login

When you log in for the first time:

  1. Organization Detection: DZDesk identifies your organization from your identity provider
  2. Account Creation: Your account is automatically created using your profile info (name, email)
  3. Role Assignment:
    • First user from an organization → admin
    • Subsequent users → role from group membership or customer by default
  4. Dashboard Access: You're taken directly to your dashboard

Trial Period

New organizations start with a 14-day free trial:

  • Unlimited users
  • Full feature access
  • No credit card required

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

DZDesk inherits MFA settings from your identity provider:

  • DZDesk trusts the MFA verification from your identity provider
  • No separate MFA configuration in DZDesk

Session Management

Session Duration

  • JWT sessions are valid for 30 days
  • Tokens are refreshed automatically every 24 hours
  • Azure token refresh happens automatically when expired

Signing Out

To sign out of DZDesk:

  1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
  2. Select "Sign Out"
  3. You'll be returned to the login page

Multiple Devices

  • You can be signed in on multiple devices simultaneously
  • Each device maintains its own session
  • Signing out on one device doesn't affect other sessions

Troubleshooting

Cannot Access Login Page

  • Verify you're using the correct URL: app.dzdesk.com
  • Check your internet connection
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Try a different browser or incognito mode

Login Fails with Error

  • Ensure you're using your organization email (not personal)
  • Verify your identity provider account is active
  • Check if MFA is required but not completed
  • Contact your IT administrator if issues persist

Access Denied After Login

  • Your account may need role assignment
  • Contact your DZDesk administrator to verify your permissions
  • Check if you're in the correct DZDesk groups (DZDesk-Agents, etc.)

Wrong Organization

If you end up in the wrong organization:

  • You may have signed in with the wrong account
  • Sign out and sign in with your correct organization account
  • Contact support if the issue persists
